Spira mirabilis
Spira Mirabilis is a project founded in 2007 by a group of young professional musicians already active in the most important musical scenes of Europe. These musicians felt the urge to create their own place to study music without the stressful and frenetic rhythm which characterizes the professional music world. In each organized session, the performers choose one piece from either symphonic or chamber music. This piece is analyzed, interpreted and offered to the public.
The creation of a coherent and univocal interpretation of a piece without the intervention of a conductor is a long and demanding process. This process is often characterized by discussions, deep sense of responsibility and the need to develop a certain ability to criticism both towards others and oneselves. These difficulties and complexities, and in a way the utopia, nevertheless represent one of the raison d’être of the Spira Mirabilis project.
Spira Mirabilis chose Formigine as residency and developed a special relation with the local community. Thanks to the musicians’ support, the local administration of Formigine was able to create an Auditorium with perfect peculiarities to obtain an optimal sound diffusion. This Auditorium is an ideal location for music performances.
